Is milk bad for dogs

Posted on | March 25, 2012 | No Comments

So I get asked this question quite often, I did go over it in the last post but I think I’ll talk about it shortly in this post. Milk is not bad for dogs however most dogs are lactose intolerant so their tummies won’t be able to break down the lactose or milk sugar. This doesn’t mean you should give milk to your dog but chances are milk won’t go to the extreme of killing your dog. Lots of people give milk to their dogs and you may often hear that milk is bad for dogs but they’re simply referring to the side-effects you may notice such as a stomach ache or diarrhea.

If you do decide you want to take chances and give you dog milk, I recommend not giving the milk to puppies or elderly dogs and only give your dog a TINY bit. My friend gives his dog milk every now and then as a treat but only in tiny amounts. Personally I stick to water with my dog and that’s what I think you should as well.
